APR & REVO Dyno's

Just completed dyno runs for my car and piscargot's car, results below, will update later with pics and the graphs etc

Ryous Setup
APR S2 Testpipe remap
APR RSC Downpipe
Miltek Quads
Gruppe M intake

Max BHP : 235
Max Torque: 402

Piscargots Setup
Revo Remap
JFA Catless Downpipe
Miltek Quads
CFx Intake

Max BHP : 230
Max Torque: 385

We are both very happy with our numbers, if fact for my car, if u assume 15% drivetrain loss, its about 275hp on crank...which is spot on what APR site says a S2 car should be putting down.

Neither of us plan to do anymore engine mods, and will be staying at S2 for the time being, next up will be suspension and braking mods for me.

Points to note
- My car peak boost was 1.65 vs 1.48
- Catless DP vs 200 cell cat DP
- both have very similar torque curves, with max power from 3k-5k
- Neither of us have the so called DSG "reflash", which i find personally a waste of money

APR RSC 3" Downpipe with 200 cell Sport cat

Decided to take advantage of the APR summer sale and picked up a APR DP. Arrived yesterday and i decided to have it installed at Exquisite Marque in Kota Damansara

Installation was relatively straightforward, but had to fabricate a 3"->2.75" aadpter to fit the APR Centre pipe to my rear Miltek Muffler.

The APR kit came with all the adapters, clamps, even gloves for the installation, and as always, the DP is well made and solid.

First Impressions
Cruising around at 2-3k rpm, at normal KL traffic, the DP sounds totally stock. Your wife or mom could drive this car to the pasar malam and back without notcing the DP.

But when you go pass 50% throttle, the DP comes to life and theres a deliciously evil sounding PWHOOWAFAFAAAAAA ! :) Also notice a "Bliuffp" after every gear change...i love it.

Unlike my previous Cusco DP on my WRX, which was loud at all rpm levels, the APR RSC is totally silent at crusing speed, i took it it up to 120kph and it still sounded stock....

Part 2.

Have reflashed to S2 APR software, the lag is lessened and the increase in power is more noticible now. Before this, i was just toying with the idea of Brake/suspension upgrades...now..with S2..its a MUST! The car is barely able to cope with S2 power delivery, i can feel the body roll much more now, as well as the inadequecy of the stock brakes

As per my mod plan, i will be stopping at Stage 2, which i feel is the best compromise between power and reliability. Even with S2 i can already feel increased torque steer, which was not present at S1...so i can imagine that S3 would not be very drivable without significant suspension upgrades

Part 3 : have arranged a dyno shootout with my gay partner in crime, will update once done.

My setup:
APR S2 Testpipe remap
Gruppe M Intake
APR RSC DP
Miltek Rear Muffler

His setup
Revo Teknik remap
CFx Intake
JFA Catless DP
Miltek Rear Muffler

CFx Intake Install

Fren of mine came over to my place last nite to install the Cfx Intake. He had bought his GTI 2nd hand and didnt like the BMC intake that it came with...looked like a "Carbon Milo Tin" he said :)

Install was relatively straight forward, engine cover was fiddly as usual, lotsa cursing and sweating to get it on and off.

Cfx Intake looks good installed, comes with a drainhole for water drainage as well as aluminium handles to prevent the carbon cracking from over torque. Along with the K&N Drop in, the CFx is a very quiet set up....the Forge DV whistle is hardly noticible now, sounds like the stock DV

HPS -Superior Stopping Power
High Performance Street disc brake pads are world renowned for increasing stopping power on your street legal vehicle. Increasing the performance of your vehicles braking system is easy when you choose Hawk Performance’s HPS braking compound. This unique Ferro-Carbon formula was developed for street performance using the safety and quality of Aerospace and Motorsports severe-duty friction technology.
The High Performance Street compound offers a higher coefficient of friction over stock brake pads and can provide you 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads. Less fade means you’ll have a highly durable brake pad with less brake dust..
HPS Ferro-Compound Features:
Increased stopping power
High friction/torque hot or cold
Gentle on rotors
Extended pad life
Low dust
Virtually noise-free

Performance Ceramic
Ultimate stopping power in an ultra-low dust, low noise ceramic compound!
Hawk Performance has introduced a premium, high performance, ultra-low dust, low noise compound called Performance Ceramic.
Performance Ceramic is engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), creating a quieter performing brake pad. Furthermore, the ceramic brake pad formula has a linear friction profile that allows your ABS brake system to work more effectively. With Performance Ceramic you can expect reduced brake pad wear, lower dust output levels and a rotor-friendly brake pad.
Performance Ceramic – quiet, clean & fast stopping!
Key Features:
Increased stopping power
Increased rotor life
Extended pad life
Ultra-low dust
Extremely quiet
Stable friction output
Recommended for import
domestic automobiles

HP Plus / Autocross
Hawk Performance’s HP Plus brake pad compound is ideal for Autocross and Track Day drivers looking for a high performance race compound that can take the heat of the track and get you home safely without having to change the pads.
HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials.
Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking.
Key Features:
Extremely High Friction Output
Fade Resistant
Worthy for Autocross & Club Racing Events
Warning! Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product to achieve "race-level" braking, rotor wear, noise, dust, and pad life may be affected.
