just a check, APRs maps are 95 and 98 right? but all pumps in M'sia was selling 97max, even VPower is 97 with additives rite? if I remember correctly Carl told me its ok using higher RON with a lower map, ie VPower with a 95 remap, but u shouldn't use lower RON with a higher map, ie 98 remap with RON95 or RON92, so will it affect our engines in the long run? I have been using VPower from the very beginning with the 98remap, now I have to switch to Petronas Primax, which I think is also RON97 with additives rite? Can't seem to find any discussions on most of the forums, so thot I would check with you..haven't been able to get in touch with Carl as well. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Using 97 with the 98map is a close enough match, so dun worry about it, there are 120+ APR cars running 97 on the 98map with no issues.

The issue is when u run ron95 with the 98 map, its a big enuff diff which might cause knocking, so better to remap to 95 if u plan to use 95

I think you should stock some octane booster from STP or AfterBurn to upgrade the fuel from 95 to 96+ just in case you can't find 97.

So far I feel Caltex Techron gives better response and FC than Shell Super. Petronas no longer offering 97 as far I can tell
